Our book club consists of staff members from an elementary school. We started almost a year ago - our founding member has moved and is no longer with us but we continue with out her! We meet monthly and rotate houses - often our menu ties in with the book. We've read
Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bon's
Light on Snow
The Secret Life of Bees
My Sister's Keeper
Little Children
Confessions of a Shopaholic
The Mermaid's Chair
The Pact
Shoot the Moon
Broken for You
A Long Way Down - currently reading for November

Hi Kinderpugs!

We read The Secret Life of Bees in my group very recently and we all loved it! We've also read Angry Housewives (although not as a group). There are a few more on your list that are on our TO DO list...The Mermaid's Chair, Shoot the Moon.

Our book club recently read The Pact by Jodi Pichoult. We talked about this book and others by this author since many of us had read other books she had written. We agreed that My Sister's Keeper was our absolute favorite. It was interesting to compare and discuss other works by the same author.

I agree that Plain Truth was very good, as was the pact. However, my favorite is My Sister's Keeper as well. -mo

Of all the books our group has read, the best discussions were about The Secret Life of Bees, Middlesex, The DaVinci Code and The Red Tent. We also loved The Kite Runner, My Sister's Keeper, The Lovely Bones and Me Talk Pretty One Day. We are currently reading Evening Class for February and will read Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close for March. We were a little disappointed with The Mermaid Chair and Reading Lolita in Tehran.

My bookclub read a lot of the same books you did. I loved My Sister's Keeper. A few others that I just loved as much were Time Traveler's Wife and The Kite Runner. I also really liked most of Jennifer Weiner's books.
We just started reading Marley and Me. I'll have to tell you how that was after we finish it.

You can actually rent these books on this cool site I found called The Bookclub Connection at www.thebookclubconnection.com
