My Name is Lisa and i am currently a Sophmore at Niagara Univerisity, Majoring in Education and English. I am also currently working on Joyce Carol Oates' work, We Were the Mulvaneys. IF you have read the novel, you are aware that the novel takes place in Western New York. Conveniently, i was born, raised and currently reside in Western New York. Therfore, i focused more on the cultural and regional aspects of the piece than the interactions between characters or the issues of the novel concerning rape, family obligation, the american dream,lack of racial prevalence, upon others. I am posting this to recieve any response at all from the novel. If you could possibly include where you live in relation to the piece, reactions to the novel, as well as the aspects that you focused more closely on, i would appreciate it immensly.
