Does anyone have good ideas on what to do with their group to celebrate the holidays?

What our group does in December is we meet at a restaurant for dinner and have a book exchange. Everyone wraps a gently used or new paperback and we just pick according to birthdays. We also all contribute to a fund to purchase children's books that we can give to charity.

We've been doing this for years and it's a big hit!

Hello:

We do a secret santa of a 'bookish' item that is between 15 and 25$. We draw names from a hat in November, and bring the gift to our discussion in early December. I thought it would be fun to read a book called: Autobiography of Santa Clause by Jeff Guinn ISBN: 1585422657

Our book club has been together for several years now and what we've really enjoyed doing in December for a social night rather than actually discussing a book. We've gone out to a dinner theatre for a night out a few times and other years we've done a pot luck dinner at one of our homes, with lots of good wine and wonderful food. We always have lots of laughs. One year we decided to share one secret about ourselves that none of us knew up to that point and it was quite enlightening. Another year we played Scruples; all good fun and we look forward to doing something similar this year.
