Book 2: Glory in Death

Just started chapter 12. So far I think it might be either David Angelini or Randall Slade. Clues are pointed to them. However, I think it's unlikely to be either.

My wild card guess is C. J. Morse. He wants fame and fortune. But my guess is it won't be him either as JDR will keep him as a reoccurring character in the series.

So I still don't really know.

Loved Mavis and Eve's girl's night at Roarke's. Maybe a Mavis/Summerset hook up further on in the series. Summerset is all serious and proper but I don't recall the books mentioning him being an old man so far. It seems like he could possible be dazzled by Mavis.

Hey Anne, I just found the thread and this is a great idea! I've read up through Midnight in Death so far and love the way the characters are growing and developing. Without giving anything away, I can tell you that Mavis and Summerset continue to be in the stories and a few new people come into play to make Eve's life richer. I don't recall Robb mentioning that Summerset is an old guy wither but I have a visual of him as a stuffy old butler type Roll Eyes

Anne/Lori, I just love Mavis. To use my sister's terminology, she is a "hoot." She really works at loosening up Eve. I also get a big kick out of Eve and Summerset's love/hate relationship.

Don't know if Sommerset is real old, but he is definitely older than Roarke--Anne, I think you'll find out more about Sommerset in one of the later books if I'm remembering correctly.

Hi gang; I just finished reading Betrayal In Death which is book #12. I think you will really enjoy watching the character developments this far. and did you know that there are about three more books in the series coming out this year? We may never be done, but what fun.

Anne; M is next on the list.

Hey Cindy, I've been seeing all the new In Death books coming out--how exciting! It's amazing that she can continue writing good stories with these characters & it doesn't get boring. I have seen a lot of the hardcovers on sale in B&N now that they're all out in paperback. Thanks again for turning me on to these books. Looks like we're going to be enjoying them for a while--looking forward to sharing the fun. Wink Ramona

Thanks Lori! I thought it would be nice to have a place where we could mention details without having to worry about spoiling a book accidentally for anyone who hasn't read it.

Cindy, I keep thinking M is next and that I've talked to her about it but we keep managing not to exchange emails so I can get her address. Not sure what's going on exactly.

I finished Glory in Death and couldn't believe Robbs made C. J. Morse the killer. I really didn't think it would end up being him until it became really obvious that it was him.

Since I have too too much to read or finish reading in January, I'm saving book 3 to start in February.

Hello all

Hey Anne I mailed out book 4, Rapture in Death to you one day this week. Think it was Tuesday. I haven't started book 5 yet, will soon. I really want to read this book called Easy Way To Stop Smoking...which I put down last year. Glad your not in a hurry. Think I will read the JD Robb books in the evening.

I just finished Midnight in Death & just now noticed that it's not on the list of the In Death books listed inside the front cover of Holiday in Death. Is it listed on the other books? If not, Cindy, how did you know this one existed? It's obviously a very short, quick read & you don't have to guess about whodunit, but it was still good. Are there other short ones like this?

SPOILER ALERT for remainder of post if you haven't read this far into series:

Not having read summaries on any of the later books, I was so afraid they were going to kill off Mira--I do so love her role in Dallas's life. I also thought for sure Palmer would manage to capture Dallas & she would suffer some--of course, I knew she wouldn't be killed since she's the main character. I'm thinking maybe the next one is going to tell about Eve & Dallas's New Year's Day together.

Barb, I'll be mailing out Holiday in Death and Midnight in Death to you tomorrow. Didn't want to mail separately since MID is so short. Which one are you reading now?

Some of you (at least Cindy) may have checked out Nora Roberts site. I just went there and saw where there are four shorter books (one to come out this year) in the In Death series--considered anthologies. They also have two short stories written by her that you can read on line. They also have Eve Dallas coffee for sale, but I think it's only in the store. Pretty cool! Smiler Ramona

Ramona, it's on my list of the series which I got from J. D. Robbs' website. It's number 8. I can email you (and anyone else who wants it) the copy I saved to my computer so you have it handy if you'd like.

So Ramona is about to start book 9. Where are the rest of you ladies at?

Cindy ??? --> Lori ??? --> Ramona (#9: Conspirary) --> Barb (#5: Ceremony)??? --> Anne (#3: Immortal) --> M (#1: Naked)
