We are a new book club in St Louis and are looking for recommendations of a light read to begin with, something with some humor to it without being "too sweet" as one member put it. Suggestions?

I would suggest maybe Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons, some humor, some sadness. Or maybe Big stone Gap by Adriana Trigiani.

Izzy,
Try the #1 Ladies Detective Agency. That's a nice fun, light read as well.

Izzy,
These Is My Words by Nancy E. Turner. There isn't one person in our group or family & friends that we passed it off to that hasn't loved this book. Enjoy! this is one book you will want to share with everyone.

I've read all 3 of those mentioned and they are great! (btw, Nancy Turner has a 3rd book out about our friend, Sarah!)
I'd also recommend 'Ella Minnow Pea', by Mark Dunn. A very clever light read that touches on some heavy topics!

Hi,

I just posted a note to you in the Vreeland group about the discussion we had on The Passions of Artemisa..... I forgot to add, if you are interested we shared this book in the "Someday..." group. And I think it was last month....
