I just finished this novel and I can't forget it. WOW.
Did anyone else have a similar experience?

Hi
I read the Kite runner last year. It was a very good read. It was beautifully written and the characters were very believable.
If you enjoyed it have you read "the god of small things" .Possibly you would enjoy this also.
Cheers
Cookie

Hi, I finished The Kite Runner recently and felt that it was excellent writing and a fascinating story. Learned a lot about Afghanistan. The singer, Clay Aiken, recommended this book to his fan club and they have an ongoing discussion that is terrific, pages and pages. But you have to be a member. I think they are starting a thread on Clay Cafe, which you only have to register. I would love to see a discussion here.
Cookie: Thanks for The God of Small Things suggestion. I want to read more like TKR.

My book discussion group at Flushing Library in Queens, NY read The Kite Runner in June 2006, and we had a good discussion. I recommend it for all book discussion groups.

I just finished reading this book, and in my opinion it was fascinating the way everything was described, that you kind of get the feeling of being there, I learned a lot about the way things work forpeople from that culture. I had such a hard time trying to stop my reading before going to bed, it is that kind of book that once you start reading it you can't stop. What a great piece of literature! I would highly recomend it for someone who is looking for an EXCELLENT book to read. Smiler
