Name up to three authors whose books you HAVE to have, no matter how tight your budget is. |

in no specific order of preference:
Susan Vreeland Susan Isaacs Louise Erdrich Sarah Donati Mar~ "Loved books transcend the categories they come from." |
Anita Shreve
Douglas Preson and Lincoln Child I must read their books as soon as they come out in hardback because I love their stories and I'm never let down! |
James Patterson
J. D. Robb Without a doubt! Must have them...I don;t know why it just isn't as satisfying to borrow these from the library. Lori |

Only 3? That's a tough one. I'll do my best.
John Steinbeck - without a doubt Cormac McCarthy - a fairly new discovery for me Barbara Kingsolver - an all-time favorite of mine LeeAnn |

Well Jane Austen, Rosamunde Pilcher, and J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series would be on my list except it seems this is referring to authors who are currently releasing works, so...
-Diana Gabaldon (Outlander series) -Sara Donati -Christy Yorke (discovered only recently, but have purchased all five of her books) ~Katherine |

Lori, Cindy,
J. D. Robb, well, that's a no brainer for me. Thank you both, for talking so much about the series, I would have never picked one of them up and look at me now, almost done with book #7 and I see myself reading all 27 of them. My new favorite author! J. D. Robb has made it a fun time reading this summer! |

Oh-oh Lori,
If you love the Outlander series, Donati's books are a must! I've read three of the five--I'm saving the last two. LOL. In fact, Gabaldon mentored Donati with her writing and there are references within her books to characters from Gabaldon's books. Definitely check these out. ~Katherine Opps, I forgot to mention, these are called The Wilderness series and the order is: 1) Into the Wilderness 2) Dawn on a Distant Shore 3) Lake in the Clouds 4) Fire Along the Sky 5) Queen of Swords This message has been edited.
