Hi Everybody,

I'm new to the forum. Just joined. Just finished reading The Glass Castle in my bookclub which was my selection.

I absolutely loved it. This book will stay with me for a long time. What am amazing life the author had. I will never forget her. She truly rose against all odds and not an ounce of pity for herself. What an inspiration. I highly recommend this book.

What a coincidence - I just put this book on hold with the library a couple of day ago. I'm #4 on the waiting list but they have 3 copies so I should have it in my hands soon. I can see this one becoming a movie in the future.

What a coincidence! My book club read this one a few months ago and it was liked by everyone....quite a feat for our eclectic group! It inspired a lot of heated discussion. Isn't that what books are supposed to do?

Book Diva – I enjoyed The Glass Castle. It was well written, thoughtful, and presented in nonjudgmental manner. Like you mentioned, even though she was raised in poverty and neglect, Walls doesn’t play the victim. It was at turns fascinating, appalling, compassionate, sad, and triumphant.

Ann, I can see how this book would make for a lively book group discussion!

I have to read this book for my English Comp 2 class, but I'm also using it for my Developmental Psych class. It was an amazing book. Makes you really think about your own life and your own eccentricities....

I liked it and will read it again and again.

Hi there fellow book lovers.

Just wanted to say that I have read Glass Castle and it is one of my favorites. I belong to another online book club and just seeing if I can post here. I am also wondering if it is possible to start a new thread. I may have to play around and I sure hope no one minds.

Hey ya'll, I was with the group with Barb that read The Glass Castle back in May. It did raise some interesting discussions. If anyone wants to discuss anything specifically, I'm sure some from our group will jump on board. It is definitely a great read. Ramona

I'm not sure if anyone is still here. Although I have read The Glass Castle and loved it. I use this book in my Psy classes which I teach.
