I am starting this blog in order to record the highlights of my new book club's discussions. For a lack of a better name, we are "All About Books". Our first selection was the title of this discussion. It is a moving and emotional story of a set of twins separated at birth. One, a boy to be raised by the natural parents and the other, a girl with Down's Syndrome, is raised by a nurse. Parallel story lines make for a compelling and intriging read that weaves in and out of both lines through the eyes of the nurse.
The daughter, Phoebe was out favorite character. All the other character's had flaws and weaknesses that seemed to emphasize Phoebe's purity of heart. We all admired her honesty and a few expressed envy how her condition allowed her the freedom that most of us, concerned with social graces and the opinion of others, do not allow ourselves to express and experience life as fully as does Phoebe.
I will add to this as time allows. I am hoping other members of the group will add to this. We all look forward to comments and discussion.
